Privacy Policy

BhashaSEO (“we”, “us”) is a Shopify app that rewrites product listings for search (SEO) in English and publishes translations in Indian languages. This policy explains what data we access, why, and your choices. It covers the app only.

What we access and store

When you install BhashaSEO, and with the permissions you authorize (read/write products, read/write translations, read locales), we access and store:

• Store identity & settings — your store’s myshopify domain, selected plan, and tone preference.
• Product content you choose to optimize — the titles, descriptions, and SEO fields of the products you run through the app. We store before/after snapshots so you can revert changes.
• Usage records — which products were processed, timestamps, and token/cost counts, used to enforce fair-use limits and for our own analytics. These contain no personal data.
• Authentication tokens — the session token Shopify issues so the app can act on your behalf.

We do not collect data about your customers or end shoppers. BhashaSEO operates on product-catalogue content only. The customer-data privacy webhooks Shopify requires are implemented and return no data, because we hold none.

How your data is used

• To generate SEO copy and translations, the text of the products you optimize is sent to our AI provider, Google (Gemini API), which processes it to produce the rewritten or translated text.
• Translations are written back to your store through Shopify’s native Translations API. Your original English content is never overwritten.

Third-party subprocessors

• Google (Gemini API) — AI text generation; product text is processed to produce output.
• Google Cloud — application hosting (Cloud Run) and database (Firestore).
• Shopify — the platform your store and this app run on.

Data retention & deletion

• We retain your data while the app is installed.
• When you uninstall, we stop processing and flag your store for cleanup.
• On Shopify’s shop-redaction request (sent 48 hours after uninstall), we permanently delete your store record and all associated usage, version-history, and job data.
• You may request deletion at any time by emailing support@bhashaseo.com.

Cookies

We use only the session cookie required for the embedded app to authenticate with Shopify. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on managed infrastructure. Session tokens are held by Shopify’s session storage.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
